As she prepared to graduate high school, Maria C. Rhone was accepted to the fine arts program at Buffalo State College but opted, instead, to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education. To no surprise, Maria stood out among her education classmates at Buffalo State. The school recognized her abilities when she was awarded the Dean of Arts and Humanities Creative Associates Award, given to only one person in each art department. Maria was awarded to represent the Fine Arts program, and as a result, her painting, “Knox Farm,” went on display at Capital Normal University in Beijing, China. She has displayed work in the Birchfield-Penney in Buffalo, NY, at SUNY Alfred, and in Black Mountain, NC.
As a part of her love of art, Maria finds joy in not only practicing but also teaching art. Maria offers art lessons and paint parties to all ages.
