Holding onto summer. New acrylic painting. I found this 1" thick plywood round and thought it would make the perfect spot to paint some gardenias. 13" in diameter.

This piece represents redemption. The hand reaches up as the Holy Spirit comes down, the flowers that thrive in the desert, the mustard seed plant, the patches sewed in place- it all signals a redemptive new life in Christ. There were many verses that were reflected on as I painted this: John 16:20 Your sorrow will turn to joy. Lamentations 3:25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the souls who seek him. Ezekiel 37:12 Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people.
